Brandon Felder serves as Choral Director and Staff Musician at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Largo, Maryland. Mrs. Janel Merritt serves as the Director of Church Music, Mr. Richard Smallwood is Artist in Residence and the Senior Pastor is Dr. Maurice Watson.

 

Metropolitan Baptist Church is a vibrant, multicultural congregation whose vision is as broad as the grace of God. We are a church, building on the strength of our historic past while claiming the new ministry that God has given to us. We are developing a ministry to families with a continuing emphasis on the social dimensions of the gospel. Music is a divinely-appointed universal language that has the power to reach everyone and the vision of the Metropolitan Music Ministry is to employ the Word of God in song to reach the lost, uplift the broken, and encourage the saved. The Metropolitan Music Ministry strives to offer various genres of music such as Hymns, Spirituals, Anthems, Contemporary and Traditional Gospel to accomplish this now for over 150 years. Members are also engaged in The Metropolitan Concert Series that brings quality inspirational arts programming to the Metropolitan area through events such as Handel's Messiah now in its 70th year, Kennedy Center Presentations and recently performing The Star Spangled Banner at the MLB All Star Game in Washington DC.
